 Breakfast
Gourmet breakfasts are included with each room. Tables in the fireside dining room are set with crisp linens,
Villeroy and Boch china and fresh flowers. Breakfast fare varies daily, and may include fresh fruits and juices, homemade breads and muffins, breakfast soufflés, Canadian bacon, cinnamon orange French toast, and coffee and tea.
At Chester, we realize that you’ve come to get away and often want your privacy. For that reason, guests
have their own tables. However, should you happen to strike up a conversation with other guests and wish to dine with
them the following morning, we are happy to arrange it for you!
Dinners
 Five-course gourmet dinners with wine are available for parties of four or more with advance request. Chester’s dining room provides a warm and intimate atmosphere to host a dinner party for groups of up to 20 people. Please call ahead for availability, menus and pricing.
Local Dining
For a sample of the local life, enjoy delicious home cooking
at Lumpkin’s Restaurant (open for lunch and early dinner).
Have a bar meal at the Dew Drop Inn, featured in the
television series The Waltons. You can also try Minor's Diner for great burgers and wraps.
For an authentic Jeffersonian meal, dine at The Michie Tavern near Monticello, a 20 minute drive from the inn.
Nearby Charlottesville (a 25 minute drive) is home to numerous wonderful restaurants of all types. We’re
